Larry Cook bought his first motorcycle (1947 INDIAN CHIEF) in 1948. The "CHIEF" was
wrecked and required lots of TLC (Tender Loving Care) and a new windshield and mirrors!
Other than that, just a bit of paint! I decided that I liked working on bikes, so
my next purchase was a 1936 Harley "61 cubic inch" flat head.
By this time I started to college and decided on being a mechanical engineer.
After a couple of years designing aircraft parts, tools and dies for the
manufacture of aircraft, I started a "design and build" machine shop. In my spare
time I built a couple of bikes using Harley engines. This got me into tuning
motorcycle engines.
In 1975 I bought a Honda Gold Wing (completely naked) thus I started building
motorcycle accessories and installing Turbocharging systems on Goldwings. By 1987 I
decided that I wanted to concentrate on performance systems for dirt racing bikes.
(I had two sons who did the riding and I did the design and build). They outgrew
the racing fever for bikes and we turned to tuning and racing MG Midget sport cars.
Great fun! In 2001 I became interested in a company, Alpha Sports, who was
importing a bike from Korea (Hyosung). I went to Georgia to visit the company,
and came away with a GV250 to build accessories for! From then on, I became
more involved with the Hyosung line, because I considered their design far
superior to any other manufacturer, either foreign or domestic! PERFORMANCE IS MY GAME!
